How Solar Electricity Works
Photovoltaic (PV) modules, commonly known as solar panels, are comprised of semiconductor wafers that extract electrons from the sun's energy to create direct current (DC) electricity. These wafers are framed with aluminum and covered with a low reflective tempered glass for maximum light exposure and protection. The modules are wired to the inverter where the DC electricity is converted to alternating current (AC) electricity, which is the standard form of electricity used in homes and businesses.
